“Above all, try something” Franklin D. Roosevelt
My own personal health journey the last couple of years has been clearing out mold toxins and heavy metals from my body and with this came extreme levels of inflammation and pain. They didn’t get there overnight and they certainly are not leaving overnight. At the suggestion of many people I finally decided to give acupuncture a try and I have to say, “ I’M HOOKED!”
Not only has acupuncture helped facilitate my body to better detox itself, but it has greatly reduced the pain and inflammation I have been experiencing. The treatments are very relaxing and I actually look forward to going every week.
So how does it work? Acupuncture involves the stimulation of specific points on the body using very thin tiny needles. No, it does NOT hurt. The thought process is that these area’s stimulated along meridian’s in the body, balance the flow of energy or life force. When we are not balanced, this is when illness, pain, poor sleep and fatigue can all occur.
There have been several studies now with researchers using clinical trials and the evidence definitely points to the efficacy of acupuncture for the benefits of:
~Reducing headaches and migraines.
~Improving chronic pain, including for the back, neck, knee or arthritis pain.
~Treating insomnia
~Improving cancer and chemotherapy recovery.
~Preventing cognitive decline.
~Pregnancy, labor and postpartum health.
For something that I actually look for to doing and the cost of an acupuncture treatment ( many insurance plans cover it as well) this seems like a win win. I would definitely recommend to others to give acupuncture a try.
I like that, I’m going to give acupuncture a try.
Go for it!
