Our Toxic World

Glyphosate is all over the news now, as it should be!  I hope the truth about this widely used dangerous chemical is finally becoming clear to the world.

Lets break this down very simply.  Whatever we put in our body effects us in “some” way.  Thus I always say, food is medicine, good or bad.  What in the world would make any of us think, or our governmental regulation agencies think that glyphosate would not have SOME effect on our health even at what they call “safe amounts”!

So what exactly is glyphosate? The glyphosate herbicide is best known as the active ingredient in Roundup, the Monsanto weed killer used most often in the United States. Monsanto, who recently became part of Bayer AG, denies that glyphosate exposure has any toxic effects on human health and claims that the chemical is completely safe as long as it is used according to the label instructions.

Now how can the makers of this chemical deny that has any toxic effects on human health?

Well, we must ask where this information is coming from! In 2017, Judge Vince Chhabria, who is overseeing the Hardeman case (a lawsuit against Monsanto/Bayer for Roundup causing cancer) unsealed documents that suggested the agrochemical company had ghostwritten scientific papers and worked with an EPA official to stop a review that would have been conducted by the US Department of Health and Human Services.

“Facts are a stubborn thing but statistics are pliable”  -Mark Twain.

We are, by default, conducting a massive clinical toxicology trial, and our children and their children are the experimental animals.

There are around 84,000 chemicals on the market, and we come into contact with many of them every single day. And if that isn’t enough to cause concern, the shocking fact is that only about 1 percent of them have been studied for safety.

In 2010, at a hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Superfund, Toxics and Environmental Health, Lisa Jackson, then the administrator of the EPA, put our current, hyper-toxic era into sharp perspective: “A child born in America today will grow up exposed to more chemicals than any other generation in our history.”

Wow!  This is just crazy to me.  We are becoming a nation of people that live with chronic illnesses our entire life and just medicate to live.  Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, is possibly “the most important factor in the development of multiple chronic diseases and conditions that have become prevalent in Westernized societies”

I believe that a great many of us today are becoming aware of this plight in our world, however how many of us are willing to stand up and take action?  This means we must all make changes!

Of course the best answer is to avoid this and other chemicals at all costs, but that is not simple in our world today.  We do however have choices, and our buying power will effect these companies in the pocket book.

Remember, unless a food is certified organic, you can assume it contains GMO ingredients if it contains sugar from sugar beet, soy, or corn, or any of their derivatives. If you buy processed food, opt for products bearing the USDA 100% Organic label, as organics do not permit GMOs.

Below are a list of products that I urge you NOT to buy.  The EWG tests have shown these to have higher levels of glyphosate.
